Release 1.5.0

Features

Today, we’re happy to share that we’ve released Supply Planning on the Bluefin platform with our 1.5 release, along with other fixes and improvements. Supply Planning provides users with the capability to model depot-to-site shipments based off of an existing Demand Plan.

Supply Planning

Under the “Supply” tab, you’ll find a new enrollment groups configuration area. You can configure parameters to handle two kinds of inventory: inventory for initial dispensation (safety stock), and inventory for known visits.

Inventory for initial dispensation, or safety stock, is configured through seeding quantity, minimum buffer stock, and maximum buffer stock. Bluefin’s supply planning algorithm will automatically deduct the materials for each initial visit from safety stock, and will trigger a re-order when it reaches the minimum threshold. A re-order will contain enough supplies to fill up to the maximum buffer stock level.

The short and long windows are used to order for known demand.

Seeding uses one of two triggers: first participant enrolled or site activation. You can set site activation dates under the “Enrollment” tab. First participant enrolled date will correspond to the first participant to enroll at a given site, which can also be seen in the “Enrollment” tab.

Site Demand can be viewed in the preview at the bottom-left on the “Forecasting” page. It can also be viewed and exported as a report in the “Reports” page.
